A Pair Of Fascinating French White Marble Stands With Serpents, 1920's
This is a pair of fascinating and extremely rare French Art Deco stands or pedestals that date from the 1920's. They are carved from white marble in octagonal shapes, decorated with fabulous serpents on top. These are rare treasures that would enhance any decorative object placed upon them. They could be used as candleholders, or display smaller sculptural works, vases, plants etc. Each one measures about 8.5 x 13.5 x 13.5 cm or approximately 3.3 x 5.3 x 5.3 inches and they are in lovely condition with minor signs of ageing seen mainly in a few minute chips and marks that are hardly noticable. They are exactly as I discovered them in Pezenas in the South of France. For the full condition please refer to the images!
