Antique French Goldwork Embroidery With Sacred Heart, 1800's

An opulent and extremely rare antique French goldwork embroidery with a sacred heart, 19th century.
 
This exquisite treasure that originates from the mid 1800's, was discovered recently in the South of France. It is an absolutely astonishing example of the great French ecclesiastical embroidery created most probably as an altar front embellishment. A majestic sacred heart worked masterful in gold and silver bullion wire is placed upon the rays of light, take the central part on a long red velvet measuring about 31 x 212 cm or approximately 12.2 x 83.4 inches. The velvet is adorned with gold metallic fringe and lined on its back. This is a remarkable treasure in great antique condition considering its age and materials used in its creation.
