Baroque Crown & Halo, 1700's
A glorious and one of a kind Baroque crown and halo from the early 18th century or older.
This exquisite treasure was discovered in Germany in May of 2021. This is and extremely rare hand carved crown and halo that once belonged to an ancient devotional statue that is not in existence any longer. They are most certainly from the very early 18th century or even older. Once they were both gilded. Through the passage of time almost all of the gilding has flaked away creating in the process an exceptional timeworn patina of breathtaking beauty and appeal. This is a fascination treasure that would look just marvellous in any stylish and unique interior, classical or contemporary. The halo - consisting of clouds and the rays of lite [denoting to heavens] - is flat on the back so it could be hang on a wall if desired. The crown is three dimensional and cold stand on a flat surface. With all the signs of ageing gained during their impressive age of 300 years or older they look just astonishing, remarkable and truly outstanding. They are exactly as I discovered them.
