A Stunning Pair Of Antique French Wood Carvings With Birds, 1800's

This stunning pair of ancient adornments was discovered recently in the South of France. These are two eagles, hand carved and gilded in silver with a fabulous timeworn patina. Once they most probably embellished a grand frame or an armoire. They are elegant and highly decorative treasures that would look just marvellous in any stylish and unique interior, classical or contemporary. Each carving measures about 35 x 21.5 x 4 cm or approximately 13.7 x 8.5 x 1.6 inches and they are in lovely antique condition with signs of ageing mainly seen in their captivating distressed patina created with the passage of time.
