A Fabulous Antique French Holy Spirit With A Stunning Timeworn Patina, 1800's

This is a fabulous antique French Holy Spirit that dates from the early 19th century. Discovered on my recent trip to the South of France this glorious treasure is created from gilded cast iron. Once it adorned the altar of a chateau close to Avignon. Through the passage of time some of the gilding has flaked away creating in the process and stunning distressed patina that in my opinion only brings forth its true beauty and splendour today.
