A Glorious French Sculpture Of Joan Of Arc, Dated And Signed, 1906

This is an absolutely glorious French sculpture of Joan of Arc created by the famous French artist Antonin Mercié [1845 - 1916] in the year of 1906. The sculpture is of exquisite artistic quality and meticulous attention to detail depicting the celebrated heroine in a standing position. Crowned with a wreath of laurels, the eyes closed while raising her head towards heaven, is portraying this great saint as being under true and divine guidance. She became a military leader that gained recognition as the saviour of France. The statue is made of metal [or a metal alloy] and mounted on a red marble base bearing the plaque with the artist's name and date. The engraved artist signature is on the right side of the marble base. The statue measures about 66 x 22 x 23 cm or approximately 25.9 x 8.6 x 9 inches and it is in lovely vintage condition with signs of ageing mainly seen in a stunning patina created during the passage of time. The sculpture is exactly as I discovered it recently in Avignon in the South of France. For the full condition please refer to the images!
