A Gorgeous Antique French Gilded Carving With Angels Holding A Crown, 1700's

This is an absolutely gorgeous and one of a kind antique French wood carving with two cherubs holding a crown. Dating from the 18th century this remarkable treasure was once the crowning part of a devotional statue - most certainly of the Virgin Mary - where the crown held by the two angels would represent her Heavenly status. It is entirely hand carved from wood and gilded, measuring about 23 x 34 x 7 cm or approximately 9 x 13.3 x 2.7 inches. It is in lovely condition with some signs of ageing which in my opinion only brings forth its true beauty and splendour today. Such items are exquisite when placed above a headboard of a bed, above doors, paintings or other works of art or decorative objects as shown in the last two images of this listing. It is exactly as I discovered it.
