A Gorgeous Antique Spanish Santo With A Lamb, Hand Carved Wood, 1800's

This is an absolutely gorgeous antique Spanish santo with a lamb that dates from the mid 19th century. Discovered recently in Barcelona this remarkable santo was once most certainly a devotional statue of the Mother Mary. The figure - in a sitting position - is hand carved from wood with a wonderful artistic quality. Mary's eyes are made of glass. She holds an adorable antique German wooly sheep also from the 1800's. The santo measures about 40 x 15.5 x 17 cm or approximately 15.7 x 6.1 x 6.6 inches and is in lovely antique condition with minor signs of ageing that are expected in such ancient items.
