A Marvellous Antique Italian Bowl, Hand Carved Pink Marble From Venice, 1700's

This is a truly marvellous antique Italian marble bowl that was discovered recently in Venice. Dating from the 18th century this remarkable treasure is hand carved from a block of marble in pink earthy tones. Such items were used in the past in kitchens and in pharmacies as mortars, as well as in churches as water fonts. The bowl measures about 29 x 29 x 16 cm or approximately 11.4 x 11.4 x 6.2 inches and it is in lovely antique condition considering its age. Today it could be used as a unique table centerpiece, on a kitchen counter as well as outside, for example in the garden. It is exactly as I discovered it together with a remarkable collection of other marble treasures from Venice. This is a deep bowl with two carved flowers.
