A Pair Of Amazing French Wood Carvings With A Timeworn Distressed Patina, 1800's

This is a pair of antique French gilded wood carvings that date from the French Empire period or early 1800's. Created in the form of elegant olive tree branches the beauty of this exceptional pair is enhanced today - in my opinion - even further with their gloriously distressed patina created by the passage of time. Some of the gilding has flaked away creating in the process a breathtaking appeal like no other. These are large carvings, each one measuring about 73 x 38 x 5.5 cm or approximately 29 x 15 x 2 inches. Such items are outstanding addition to any unique and stylish interior as they could be displayed in so many creative ways.
