A Pair Of Fabulous And Large Italian Angels, Hand Carved Wood, 1800's

This is an absolutely fabulous pair of large antique Italian angels that were discovered recently in Tuscany. They are entirely hand carved from wood and date from the late 19th century. The angels are depicted playing musical instruments - a harp and a flute. Each angel measures about 60 x 25 x 20 cm or approximately 23.6 x 10 x 7.8 inches and they are in a lovely condition with minor signs of ageing. This is hardly noticable and it could be seen in small missing part from the tip of one wing. The figures are highly decorative treasures that were often created in the past to be placed above a bed or as a part of a grand interior design, such as altars, door alcoves etc. They are exactly as I found them.
