A Pair Of Fabulous Antique French Wall Stands With Women's Faces, 1800's

This is a fabulous pair of antique French wall stands that were discovered recently in Avignon in the South of France. They date from the 19th century and are made of gilded copper or brass with wood tops meant to hold decorative objects such as vases, pots with flowers etc. They are highly ornate treasures depicting each the face of women with her eyes closed. Each one measures about 31 x 21.5 x 19 cm or approximately 12.2 x 8.4 x 7.4 inches. They are in lovely antique condition with signs of ageing mainly seen in a gorgeous timeworn patina created by the passage of time. It is this look and slightly weathered appeal that in my opinion only brings forth their true beauty and splendour today. They are exactly as I discovered them.
