A Pair Of Fantastic Antique French Gilded Wood Carvings, Griffins, 1800's

This is a pair of truly fantastic antique French wood carvings with griffins that date from the early 19th century. These are masterfully created hand carved embellishments that were once a part of a grand interior. The carvings are fully gilded. This is a rare treasure of outstanding beauty and great artistic quality that is enhanced further in my opinion with their magnificent patina created by the passage of time. They are highly decorative and could be displayed in so many creative ways. Each carving measures about 45 x 37 x 10 cm or approximately 17.7 x 14.5 x 4 inches and they are in lovely condition for their age and exactly as I discovered them recently in Béziers in the South of France.
