A Pair Of Remarkable Italian Chateau Candleholders With Distressed Patina

This is a remarkable pair of Italian chateau candleholders that were discovered recently in Beziers in the South of France. Created from wood in the forms of Ancient Greek vases they were painted with Classical motives in the shades of stunning blue and cream. Through the passage of time a magnificent distressed patina has been created that today gives that such exceptional beauty and appeal. These are highly decorative treasures that date perhaps from the 1800's or earlier and are exactly as I discovered them. Each one measures about 40.5 x 28 x 10 cm or approximately 16 x 11 x 4 inches.
