A Pair Of Superb Antique Italian Stands Gilded In Silver, Carved Wood, 1800's

This is a stunning pair of rare antique Italian stands that are hand carved from wood and gilded in silver. Dating from the 19th century this wonderful set was most certainly used in the past to display sculptural works of art such as precious devotional statues. Today they could of course display art objects as well as other decorative items. In particular they would look great with sea corals in my opinion. The stands are beautifully hand carved with each one having a garland in front. Their silver watergilding finish is still remarkable today, just superbe with the patina that developed with time. Each one measures about 12 x 24 x 12 cm or approximately 4.7 x 9.4 x 4.7 inches. In great antique condition and exactly as I discovered them recently in Tuscany.
