A Precious And Rare Antique Spanish Madonna Santo, Wood, 1800's

This is a precious and rare antique Spanish Santo that was discovered recently in Avignon in the South of France. Dating from the 19th century, this gorgeous Santo represents Mary and it comes with a stunning silver crown in the form of a moon and a star. The figure is hand carved from wood - except for the glass eyes, the arms can be moved slightly as desired. Placed in a sitting position it measures about 39 x 15.5 x 18 cm or approximately 15.3 x 6.1 x 7 inches. In lovely antique condition with signs of ageing mainly seen in a lovely timeworn patina.
