A Remarkable And Large Antique Pharmaceutical Jar With Lid, Belgium, 1800's
This is a remarkable antique pharmaceutical or apothecary jar that was discovered recently in Antwerp, Belgium. Dating from the 19th century this highly decorative treasure is made masterfully from porcelain with hand painted details in blue. Its artistic quality is truly magnificent. It has two side handles in the shape of lions' heads and a gorgeous metal lid. Once it was a container for dried tobacco. Considering its age it is in great antique condition and exactly as I discovered it. It measures about 41 x 31 x 21 cm or approximately 16.1 x 12.2 x 8.2 inches. For the full condition please refer to the images!
PS. In my shop I also have a pair of these jars in the smaller size [as shown in the last images of this listing] if needed for a larger display!
