A Splendid And One Of A Kind Gilded Mermaids Carving From Venice, 1800’s

This is a truly stupendous antique Italian treasure that originates from Venice during the 19th century. It is a one of a kind gilded wood carvings depicting a pair of fabulous mermaids, male and female. Hand carved - from a large piece of wood - with a masterful talent and artistry this outstanding treasure speaks of past times when myths and legends, with all of their majestic creatures, inspired artists and decorators across Italy to create astonishing works like no other. Measuring about 73 x 80 x 8 cm or approximately 28.7 x 31.5 x 3.2 inches, this exceptional masterpiece is remarkable in its great artistic quality as well as a highly decorative appeal that would look just exquisite in any stylish and unique interior, classical or contemporary. Considering its age it is in great antique condition with minor signs of ageing that in my opinion only brings forth its true magic and splendour today.
