A Wonderful French Angel, Hand Carved Wood With Timeworn Patina, 1800's

This is a wonderful antique French Angel that was discovered recently in L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue in the South of France. This gorgeous treasure is hand carved from wood depicting the head of an angel with open wings. The wood is gilded or painted in gold. Through years some of it has flaked away creating in the process a stunning patina. It measures about 31 x 33 x 7 cm or approximately 12.2 x 12.9 x 2.7 inches and it is meant to be displayed on a wall, perhaps above a bed. It is exactly as I discovered it with signs of ageing that in my opinion only brings forth its true beauty and unique appeal today. For the full condition please refer to the images!
