An Exceptional French Sculpture, Bronze Head Of Neptune On A Stand, 1800's

This is an exceptional antique French bronze sculpture depicting the head of Neptune the Roman god of the sea. He is the counterpart to the Greek god Poseidon. As a major deity, he is often depicted as a powerful and handsome bearded man and it has been a source of the artistic inspiration for sentries. This Neptune is created from bronze with outstanding patina in the shades of green. Created with fine artistic quality and mounted on a metal stand for a great display it measures about 48.5 x 46.5 x 16.5 cm or approximately 19 x 18.3 x 5.5 inches [including the stand]. In great condition and exactly as I discovered it recently in Avignon in the South of France. For the full condition please refer to the images!
