An Exquisite Antique Spanish Madonna Santo In Original Robes, 1800's

This is an exquisite antique Spanish santo of the crowned Madonna that dates from the early 19th century. It is quite remarkable these days to find a santo in its outstanding and original robes and accessories including the earrings, a solid silver crown with a halo as well as a silver bag. The figure is entirely hand carved from wood - except for the eyes that are made out of glass.The arms can be put in a desired position. The Madonna is dressed in a glorious silk dress embroidered with gold bullion thread and she wears a magnificent brocade cape with metallic trims and tassels. The statue is positioned on a terrestrial globe stand with a serpent. It measures about 69 x 45 x 30 cm or approximately 27.1 x 17.7 x 11.8 inches and it is exactly as I discovered it in Barcelona, Spain, with some signs of ageing that is understandable considering its age.
