An Extraordinary Antique Italian Decorative Plate In High Relief, 1800's

This is an extraordinary antique Italian decorative wall plate that dates from the 19th century. Discovered recently this fabulous sculptural masterpiece is created in a high relief giving it a truly fantastic 3-D effect. Its artistic quality is exquisite with outstanding attention to detail seen in an opulent array of cherubs, mythical creatures as well as abundant flora and fauna. In its centre is the head of Medusa. The plate is made of a metal alloy witha  silver colour finish. It measures about 34 cm in diameter or approximately 13.3 inches with a weight of 2 kg.
