An Impressive Antique French Chateau Plaque, Decorative Panel, Metal, 1800's

This is a highly impressive antique French chateau plaque that was discovered recently in Avignon in the South of France. It is a highly decorative wall hanging panel that dates from the 19th century with the most elaborate design created as a relief. It is made of a metal alloy with its front resembling bronze or copper. Its fascinating design that draws the inspiration from mythical stories depicts many exceptional Michelangelo-esque figures and creatures. Among which are Bacchus the god of wine, four medallions with angels and other deities as well as flowers, fruits, serpents etc. The central part is a grand scene of a battle. The plaque measures about 66 x 42 cm or approximately 26 x 16.5 inches and it is in great antique condition as shown on the images!
