An Incredible And Extremely Rare Antique Spanish Reliquary Bust, 1600's

This is an incredible and one of a kind antique Spanish reliquary bust that dates from the early 17th century or older. Discovered recently from a private collection in Seville this outstanding ancient treasure is exquisite in its unique allure and artistic quality that still after four centuries of its remarkable existence radiates with breathtaking and timeless beauty like no other. The bust of a mysterious female saint is masterfully hand carved from wood, painted and partially gilded. It is mounted on a wood stand and her chest opens in order to reveal a hidden "heart chamber" that once held a relic which is no longer in existence. Through its impressive age a marvellous timeworn patina has been created that in my opinion only enhances its true beauty and splendour today. It is exactly as I discovered it.
