Antique French Art Deco Lion, 1920's

This magnificent lion was discovered in Paris. It is an outstanding example of the French Art Deco period from 1920's with a lion’s head that was created with exceptional artistic expression and sculptural quality. It is entirely made of copper that during a century obtained the most stupendous patina, which only could be created by the passage of time. This lion was once an adornment of a building’s facade; I was told an old cinema. Today it could be used as a highly decorative wall hanging indoors as well as outside, such as in the garden for example. It measures about 60 x 53.5 x 25 cm or approximately 23.6 x 21 x 10 inches and it is in lovely antique condition with minor signs of ageing which in my opinion only brings forward its true beauty and splendour today.
