A Superb Antique French Portrait Painting, Framed Oil On Canvas, 1850's

This fine painting was discovered in the South of France. The painting is an exceptional female portrait from the mid - late 1800's. The oil on canvas portrait is painted with a truly masterful talent. It exhibits a breathtakingly beautiful finesse, radiating its romantic charm and elegance as if it was painted today. The canvas is still in its original wooden frame measuring about 42.5 x 36.5 x 5 cm or approximately 16.7 x 14.3 x 2 inches. The painting itself measures about 31.5 x 25 cm or approximately 12.4 x 9.8 inches and it is in great antique condition considering its age. The portrait is without the artist's signature which only enhances its mystery and enigma regarding both its creator as well as its exquisite sitter. With minor signs of ageing which in my opinion only brings forward its true beauty and splendour today as well as provide its authenticity. It is exactly as I discovered it.
