A Pair Of Gilded Antique French Carvings With A Stunning Timeworn Patina, 1800's

This is a pair of stunning antique French gilded wood carvings with a gloriously timeworn and distressed patina. Dating from the beginning of the 19th century this magnificent pair of embellishments was once most certainly a part of a grand Empire interior that is no longer in existence. They are hand carved from wood and gilded in the shape of leafy oak tree branches. They are highly decorative and could be hung on a wall or displayed on a flat surface if desired. Each one measures about 44 cm or 17.3 inches in lenght and they are exactly as I discovered them, with signs of ageing mainly seen in the lovely patina with some flaking of the gilding.
