Fabulous French Swans, Large Gilded Wood Carvings With Timeworn Patina, 1800's

This is a truly fabulous antique French treasure that originates from the French Empire period, the beginning of the 19th century. These are hand carved and gilded large swans that oncw were part of a grand interior decor in Paris. Through the passage of time some of the gilding has flaked away creating in the process a stunning distressed patina that in my opinion only brings forth their true beauty and splendour today. Such items are exquisite when displayed on a wall. Even leaving them on the floor - just resting on a wall - would look outstanding. They are of exceptional beauty and elegance and would bring to any stylish interior a mesmerizing appeal, like no other. They are exactly as I discovered them.
