Q: Tell me about yourself.
A: I have a Masters in Art History from the Courtauld Institute of Art as well as a degree from Central Saint Martins in London. After working and living in the UK for 30 years primarily as a curator, I moved to France to specialize in antiques. There, I restored an ancient maison de maître and was able to broaden my passion and love for exquisite and rare objects of exceptional beauty and splendor. My online shop, Treasure Cabinet, became an instant success. In 2022, I had the opportunity to restore and decorate a magnificent palazzo in the South of Italy which has been an exciting project. Of course I had to travel across Italy to discover more exceptional objects for my clients.
Q: How long have you been working with antiques?
A: Next year, in 2025, I will be celebrating my 10th anniversary!
Q: Where do you find your items?
A: In order to discover such unique objects, I visit many places in Europe like Spain, France, Italy, as well as the United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, and Austria.
Q: Is it true that I ship items for free?
A: Yes! As a gratitude to all of my clients, old and new, all shipping is free and comes with tracking. I ship with FedEx or DHL in order to ensure the fastest and most secure shipping process.
Q: Are these genuine antiques?
A: Yes to the best of my knowledge. I am a trained art historian and have been working with such items all my life. Previously I was a curator in museums and galleries around the globe.
Q: How do you choose your antiques?
A: I look especially for beauty, and I am interested in the item’s period and provenance. All of the treasures that I curate are one of a kind that would look exquisite in both classical and contemporary interiors.
Q: How old are these items?
A: Most of the antiques I collect are from the 17th-19th century.
Q: How often do you organize sales?
A: I have around three sales per year.
Q: Do you have a physical shop?
A: I only sell online due to having a large international following.
Q: Do you offer other services?
A: I am available for interior design consultations, including blending of ancient and contemporary styles. I also provide sourcing for specific decorative items if required such as large tapestries, themed sculptures and paintings.
Q: Where are your clients from?
A: I have clients all over the globe, from the United States, Europe, Mexico, Japan, Australia, and South Africa to name a few.
Thank you for this! I am delighted to know you a bit better. I look forward to receiving my email full of your treasures (that could be mine for the asking!). Now I shall sip my morning coffee and peruse...... Yours in Beauty, Erica
